During the class intro to art 1my favorite project was probably the one with the words on my face because I liked being able to choose the words that go into the art and it was just really awesome project. A project that I learned a lot from would be the self portrait when we used the grid because it was hard work and took a long time but I accomplished a lot. Also learned some cool art skills. When we did the Ugly mugs project I used a plethora of my previous knowledge about clay and it really helped me succeed with the outcome of the mug. I'm really impressed with my batik it had many fun things along with it and dragonflies are very important to me so it was a great project. Lastly, I that this class was overall pretty fun because we had a lot of artistic freedom with these projects. it was a great year and i'm excited for a even greater one next year.
In this project we used clay. We got to make pinch pots and stick them together for the main part of the mug.We could make any face we wanted on the mug. This project was very exciting and gave us a lot of creative liciense.
For this project we took a picture of ourselves and turned it into words. So I chose to put songs into my portrait. The three songs are God made girls bby Rae lynne, Roller Coaster by Luke Bryan , and lastly Even if it breaks your heart by Eli young Band. This project gave us a lot of freedom because we were able to choose any song and any portrait of ourselves.
This project was fun because you could really do anything you wanted to. What really inspired me in this project was the warm weather and all of the flower blossuming. What we did was get wine bottles and put this paint called jesso n the bottle for a white base the chose what ever we wanted to decorate it.
For our perspective project we broke into groups and used the big wall in the library hallway. For my groups we used 2 point perspective and id say it came out pretty great. we used painters tape to create it.
For this project we chose an artist and researched their life. We also had to make a peice of artwork inspired by their style. I chose keith Haring because he has a interesting life and his style of art was bright and colorful. It was a fun project to paint.
We make a batik in art class. For this project we were allowed to draw anything so i chose to draw a dragonfly. So once you drew what you wanted on to the fabric you has to use this tool to put wax on the fabric where you wanted it to say white. Then we got dye and painted the dye the places we wanted that color. Once the dye was done you ironed out the wax and you're done. For mine I used colors close to each other on the color wheel for the back ground. After I did that I realized it looked like outer space. In the end I really liked my batik.
When drawing this we were told to focus on a certain part of the drapes and draw the part that we zone in on. This was to help us practice our shading and realize which side the light is coming from to get the shadows right.
While painting these pears we learned about how paint reacts to paint when its dry wet, and not dry. We also learned about how to find the shadows of the pear and why certain colors look good in certain places.
