Art work portfolio
This is a accumulation of the work i did this year in my art class. I am very proud of it and learned many new techniques along the way. Hopefully I can keep pursuing art the rest of my life.

For both of these works of Art I used watercolor. In my art work you can see there is a little bit of a animal concentration because of the moose, the bird and the 2 elephant pieces that I did before these. I used a paper towel on the moose to get some of the textures. In the humming bird piece I use more pastel colors to show the light air quality of the actual bird. I may add a background to the hummingbird piece but I don't know what to put there yet.
In these pieces I was inspired by a show I watched on national geographic it talked about elephants and the way they latch on to their mother when they are traveling. I used graphite on the bottom image and I did it with no reference to picture. The top image was a water color background and a sharpie outlined and colored in foreground.
I was inspired to do these pieces because my cousin always gets complimented on her eyes. So I wanted to try a new medium and look deeper into the make up of an eye. The first on I was having fun with water color and thought it would be cool to have it drip colorful tears almost. The second one I used what I knew about eyes but it was a little off. Lastly, the third eye I referenced a packet Mrs. Haggarty gave me a step by step guide to and eye but I added some extra details and I used graphite for the medium.
Boundaries are everywhere from simple to complex. Everyone should have the freedom to express themselves however they would like but some things hinder their expression. Some things that hinder or limit my freedom of expression are schools and society. Even though we should not conform to society’s norms sometimes we are forced to or we don't have enough courage to break those boundaries. Cultural differences affect art and forms of communication because even if you cannot speak the same language you can find the same meaning to an artwork in any dialect. Boundaries are shown in my artwork when you see the sun and the water meet. They mesh in the middle but there is line there showing the boundary and that they are separate entities.
I had fun with this project trying to come up with a good idea for a value. At first I started off with this circle basic value study but it came out really bad. I didn't have enough patience to make it look like it was suppose to. I got to frustrated. So instead after taking that risk I asked for help for a new project that would better. I had tessa Give me an idea and Mrs. Haggarty. What I decided was to do a block value study. I drew the value of blocka and called it “Don't Block the value” because I thought it was pretty creative. In the End I was very proud of my final product.
For this value study I like track and I thought the foot would be a good start. I started this on other time but the proportions were off. I had to get a clean slate but by the end I think it was in my best intrest.
When we were given the project for Nature based theme for block printing the first thing I though was A flower. I took a risk the first but it came out pretty so I started over to create this flower. I think this print came out very good and I'm proud of it. For our group project it was Tessa, Brenna, Christine and I we came up with a bunch of different ideas but we though this one was the most creative and showed the most unity.
