This project was very tedious I had to carve a piece of linoleum into a shape of whatever I wanted to draw. I chose to draw a panda. Then when we did the prints we had to do color ones and black and white ones. I put a water color background to make it colorful and the other ones I just came up with something fun. I learned a lot about the carving tools and also how to be patient.
This is my self portrait. For this project we used a grid system on a picture we already had and we would draw what we saw in each square. It took a long time I had to redo the teeth a bunch of times. But it was an overall good project!
We used paper mashe to make masks for day of the dead. Some people took a scary approach i took more of a happy colorful approach. I put flowers and rosy cheeks.
In this project we we learning about empty space. So when you cut a white space out you are left with a negative space. You can also see where the original rectangle was from the beginning.
For this project we had to think of a way to draw two hands interacting and we got the inspiration from Michelangelo's "creation hands". I chose to do a pinky promise and when I drew the hands it was on a peace of white paper. I though it was very boring so I added a colorful background with analogous colors. Then I cut out my hands, the word promise and taped it on the water color. These colors made me think very cool and happy thoughts so the artwork and the colors flowed well together.
In this project we used transparencies and frames to trace our hands. Then we made a grid to draw it on paper. By using the grid you could look at it in pieces rather than one big hand.
For this project we looked at things in pieces and as lines. Instead of looking at an eye as an eye or a hand as a hand. This project made it easier to draw more complex pictures.
These are my pre instructions. We had to draw a a house, a self portrait and a full body image. So this was to get to know how we draw before we get instructed in how to do it to make it look better or maybe we are already good at it.
For this project we traced our hands and we got all of these different color markers. When we traced over it we did straight lines then when we hit the traced hand we curved it to make it look like it was 3 dimensional. Then I added shading on the side.
